New seating and galley equipment flies into Aircraft Interiors Expo 2012

A host of innovative approaches to seating and airline galleys will be on display next month when Aircraft Interiors Expo returns to the Hamburg Messe from 27-29 March. Following interest in its pre-production concept at the 2011 exhibition, Pitch Aircraft Seating Systems has rapidly advanced its design for a new light weight seat, due to be showcased at this year’s show. Developed in conjunction with Intier Automotive for single aisle short-haul flights, the innovative seating solution weighs less than 25kg and features a backrest moulded from lightweight composite materials. A number of airlines have already expressed significant interest in Pitch’s sophisticated design and, having successfully passed the landmark 16g dynamic test, the company is on track to deliver the seats at the end of the year. The aviation construction industry is looking for some concrete answers to probing manufacturing issues at the EMO Hannover 2011, the world’s leading trade fair for metalworking (September 19 – 24, 2011). After all, a conspicuously wide range of machine tool manufacturers are bringing selector solutions along to the fair and there will also be a seminar focusing on the efficient handling of challenging materials such as CFRP and titanium. ALC continues to favour eco-efficient Airbus aircraft

Air Lease Corporation (ALC), the Los Angeles based aircraft leasing company has opted to expand its single-aisle and wide-body fleet portfolio with modern, eco-efficient Airbus aircraft. ALC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the 49th Le Bourget Airshow for 50 A320neo Family aircraft including 14 options. The agreement was signed by Steven F. Udvar-Hazy, ALC Chairman and John Leahy, Airbus Chief Operating Officer, Customers. ALC also announced orders for the acquisition of eleven A330 Family aircraft and one A321. [more...]
Crystal Cabin Award 2011: Happy winners

180 invited guests from the aviation industry witnessed the excitement and tension of the award ceremony for this year’s Crystal Cabin Award in Hamburg’s prestigious traditional hotel, the Atlantic. After a formal dinner, seven snow-white trophies were presented to beaming winners. The unique prizes for innovative products and concepts in the field of aircraft cabins were awarded to Elektro-Metall Export, Lufthansa Technik, RECARO, Thales, The IMS Company and the Munich University of Applied Sciences. A total of 52 entries from ten countries were received by the Crystal Cabin Award Association in Hamburg. 21 of them reached the final round. [more...]
Setting high standards: the CCA 2011 finalists

The finalists for the Crystal Cabin Award (CCA) 2011 have been decided. In recent weeks, the international expert Judging Panel has screened and evaluated 52 products and concepts for aircraft cabins. “The level of the entries and their applicants made the Judging Panel’s activities exciting and more demanding than ever: excellent news for the industry”, comments Fernando Ponzo de Siqueira, member of the Judging Panel and Senior Manager Interiors Engineering at Embraer. Airtec 2010, the trade fair for suppliers to the aerospace industry takes place on November 2 to 4, 2010 at the Exhibition Center Frankfurt. Farnborough hosts Airshow 2010

A lot of aviation suppliers have already made sure that the time window July 19 – 25, 2010 is clearly marked in their calendars. This is when they will be heading for Hampshire in the south of English to attend Farnborough International Airshow. At present, a total of 34 pavilions have been booked by exhibitors from 36 countries, including Morocco and the Portugal for the first time this year, along with 77 other new exhibitors. [more...]

With applications already at the record level of the previous event the ILA 2010 looks set for even more success. Some 1,100 exhibitors from around 40 countries are expected at the International Aerospace Exhibition that will take place from 8 to 13 June on the southern section of Berlin-Schönefeld Airport. For the first time exhibitors from Australia, Finland, Mexico, Monaco, Sweden, Singapore, Turkey and Tunisia will be represented at this international Berlin Air Show. [more...]
