Today, the Harbin Hafei Airbus Composite Manufacturing Centre (the Manufacturing Centre), a joint venture between Airbus and its Chinese partners, was inaugurated in Harbin, China by Tom Enders, Airbus President and CEO, Chinese government officials and partners. A European airplane manufacturer’s specification to the Hamburg engineering service provider Yacht Teccon called for the development and use of a CATIA-based macro in order to cut the time needed by designers for the proper positioning of the infill panels by up to 50%. The International Suppliers Center (ISC) has received the largest number of applications from the equipment and supply sector since it was set up. Intended to serve as a “fair within a fair“, this section of the display at the world’s oldest aerospace trade show will be attracting well over 60 per cent more exhibitors than in 2008. The ISC will be open during the three trade visitors’ days at the ILA, from 8 to 10 June.
