Chinese Airbus Composite Manufacturing Centre inaugurated

Today, the Harbin Hafei Airbus Composite Manufacturing Centre (the Manufacturing Centre), a joint venture between Airbus and its Chinese partners, was inaugurated in Harbin, China by Tom Enders, Airbus President and CEO, Chinese government officials and partners. Design: Breaking the macro barrier

A European airplane manufacturer’s specification to the Hamburg engineering service provider Yacht Teccon called for the development and use of a CATIA-based macro in order to cut the time needed by designers for the proper positioning of the infill panels by up to 50%. Intended to serve as a “fair within a fair“, this section of the display at the world’s oldest aerospace trade show will be attracting well over 60 per cent more exhibitors than in 2008.
