DLR and Airbus flight-test new aircraft ventilation system

The German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt; DLR) and Airbus have flight-tested a new ventilation system for aircraft for the first time, with the objective of improving passenger comfort while saving energy and fuel. DLR and Airbus test electric nose wheel in taxiing test at Hamburg airport

On July 1st 2011, DLR’s A320 ATRA (Advanced Technology Research Aircraft) taxied around Hamburg Finkenwerder Airport propelled by an electric nose wheel. In the taxiing tests, researchers and engineers from the German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt; DLR), Airbus and Lufthansa Technik demonstrated a fuel cell-powered electric nose wheel. ALC continues to favour eco-efficient Airbus aircraft

Air Lease Corporation (ALC), the Los Angeles based aircraft leasing company has opted to expand its single-aisle and wide-body fleet portfolio with modern, eco-efficient Airbus aircraft. ALC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the 49th Le Bourget Airshow for 50 A320neo Family aircraft including 14 options. The agreement was signed  by Steven F. Udvar-Hazy, ALC Chairman and John Leahy, Airbus Chief Operating Officer, Customers. ALC also announced orders for the acquisition of eleven A330 Family aircraft and one A321. [more...]
